One of the better online political chat forums, the aptly named nohippos.com, has an award that is given to the best example of hypocrisy. Once again, my vote goes to America’s liberal left and their number #1 propaganda machine, CNN.
Hands down, the news network has shown why they aren’t nearly the respected entity they once were. If FoxNews can be called ‘cheaply conservative’, CNN can be described as the intellectual level of broadcast tabloidism. Their involvement in the mountain out of a molehill story regarding Republican VP nominee Sarah Palins pregnant daughter leaves you wanting a shower. You just feel grimy.
The attempt to discredit Palin, especially in the minds of the religious right (family values, don’t you know?) by using her 17 year old daughter as a prop is bad enough, but to repeat dirt such as the ‘who really is the mom of the last kid?’ story is garbage journalism.
Here we have an election with two possible firsts – the first Black president, the first female Vice-President. Instead of playing that angle, CNN continues to all but call an Obama victory while ignoring the importance of a potential Palin victory in favor of hack stories on her husband’s decades-old DUI charge.

Where's Dan Rather when you need him?
The viewer is left with the impression that CNN is, for all intents and purposes, grasping at straws in a feeble attempt at tarnishing Palins character. This tells me that the proBama media is scared to death of the Alaska governor and the possibility that voters will realize that she is the best person for the job.
I wonder if Obama is beginning to rue his decision of running with the 'old white guy'?
The Dems and their far-left minions pick up where CNN leaves off by essentially calling Americans idiots by having the audacity to question if Palin can handle the job. The epitome of a Woman’s Rights wet dream, Palin is a successful professional woman who has shown the ability to handle an impossibly difficult load of responsibility – at work and at home.
Apparently, only Democrat women are capable of juggling work and family life. I’m sure many successful conservative women who have cultivated a balanced work and home life are shocked to learn that they have failed. ‘Who are you voting for? McCain? What are you doing in this boardroom? Get back in the kitchen! You’ve got kids, for Heaven’s sake!’
The spin is backfiring. Far-right conservatives, those valuable votes that put Bush in the White House twice, are standing behind Sarah Palin in droves. They see what CNN doesn’t show – a woman who supports her daughter and the choice NOT to abort, but to have the child. It is obvious to all that this baby is going to have unlimited love and family support. While not entering the world under the most desirable of circumstances, this baby is no doubt going to be welcomed and supported.
Sarah Palin is being the responsible parent/grandparent we expect of a modern woman. She happens to be a Republican.
No wonder the leftwing is scared.

At least the U.S. has a right wing media (Fox). What do we have in Canada? CBC and CTV both very left wing (except for Mike Duffy Live on CTV). If you want unbiased political news in Canada, you have to watch CPAC (except Dale Goldhawk). Not a lot of Canadians are willing to watch the House of Commons or Committees in action. At least Americans can turn the channel.
