Edmonton's first Red Friday rally in support of our troops is on November 3rd between 11:30am and 1:30pm at Sir Winston Churchill Square in the downtown core (bordered by 99 and 100 streets and 102 Avenue and 102A Avenue).
Speeches are expected from Mayor Mandel, assorted other politicians, and members of the Armed Forces. Singers will provide some of the entertainment.
With the media focusing on recent 'bring home the troops' rallies around Canada, this event is an opportunity to show our brave men and women just how proud we are of the vital work they are doing. Show up, no matter the weather (being a true Albertan, that shouldn't EVER be a problem!) and let our troops know that we are on their side. Let them know that despite what some misinformed idiots might think, this nation supports it's Armed Forces and believe in the work they are doing.
Post the info on political forums. Email your friends, family, and co-workers. Tell your neighbors. Tell strangers. Tell the checkout girl at Safeway. Rally as many people as you can!
It's time for the pro-victory pundits to put their money where their mouth is. I encourage and challenge everyone in the Edmonton area who can join me to do so. Hope to see you there!
